MEET THE MANAGERS

Sean Childers
General Manager
I was born and raised in Lynchburg and have been in the restaurant industry for 25 years. I began my career at Outback Steakhouse where I worked my way up to master grill cook. I became an assistant kitchen manager during my tenure at Outback and then spent a large portion of my career at Neighbors Place. I had the opportunity to work for great leaders such as, Alex Richardson and Kevin Labor. I desire to further my career into the front the house and management. I got the opportunity to pursue these goals during my tenure at Chili’s Bar & Grill here, where I spent seven years as a corporate trainer and service manager. I had the pleasure to work along side some great directors. I developed the skills and knowledge to be a great leader there, myself. Combining all of my experience throughout the years, I was presented with this great opportunity to be the General Manager here at 221 Tap & Table. My passion for food excellence is deeply rooted. I look forward to building our brand and delivering an amazing guest experience to our guests at 221 Tap & Table!

Scott Dinwiddie
Executive Chef
I lived in Northern California for a good part of My childhood and moved to Virginia in 2003. I went to E.C. Glass High School and enrolled in their culinary program, which inspired me to pursue a career in the restaurant industry. I have worked under many great chefs and managers such as Dallas Evans, Ken & Jessica Hess, Kevin Labor, Michael Serro, Kyle Young, and Christopher Smith. They have taught me, and continue to teach me the skills I need to grow and become a great leader and chef. My goal for 221 Tap & Table is for this restaurant to be a great destination location for you and your family to come and enjoy a part of our palate.
Jeremiah Funk
Beverage Director & Service Manager
I moved with my family to Lynchburg 20 years ago from the Poconos, where I began my culinary career working at some amazing restaurants and resorts. I started from the bottom and quickly worked my way up the ranks.
After settling in Lynchburg, my first experience was at The Neighbors Place, where I started as a sauté chef and eventually accepted the position of Service Manager. This role taught me a lot about what goes on in the front of the house and deepened my love for the industry.
My journey continued as I became the Executive Chef at Iron & Ale, where I was involved from the very beginning. This opportunity further enhanced my knowledge and passion for this business, which I still love even after 30 years. To date, I have had the opportunity to open three restaurants, and I am currently a manager at 221 Tap and Table and our sister restaurant, Long
Mountain Grill, in Rustburg. I enjoy the experience of managing and leading at both restaurants.
